The Past is the textbook of tyrants; the Future the Bible of the Free. Those who are solely governed
by the Past stand like Lot's wife, crystallized in the act of looking backward, and forever incapable of looking before.
~Herman Melville, White Jacket
It is difficult to make a man miserable while he feels worthy of himself
and claims kindred to the great God who made him... Abraham Lincoln
Well, here I am again talking more about manifesting. One of the truth of manifesting is one must slow down.
This is a hurry/scrurry society we rush about doing not being. We have doing down to a science. Now the
difficulty lies in that we are a consumer society. We know very well how to go out and make create and build. We are
convinced that if we don't run our house, husband/wife, children, everything will fall apart. We have convinced ourselves
that we have to "do" to justify our "Being."
There is something inherently wrong with this thinking. What would work I feel is to slow down, relax, be in the now. Louise
Hays says "The point of power is in the Now." What does that mean? I think in terms of manifesting
it means we cannot focus if we are constantly jumping in our mind from the past to the future. We need to be relaxed
completely in the moment, This is one of the basic essentials of manifesting. So you want to pay particular attention
here. Now first and foremost I am going to state the obvious. Slow down your talking, maybe even opt for some
silence. Slow down your walking. Slow down your eating. Slow down and do nothing a see how you feel.
Is your mind going a million miles an hour telling all the things you should be doing to be worth while. Try driving
under the speed limit. Don't try and change anything just observe you doing what you are doing. If you allow this
slow down your mind will stop the chatter after a while and come to a place of timelessness. This is where the power
of manifestation resides. It is impossible to have a problem in this present moment if you are focused on what you are
doing. When one focus completely on what is happening in the present one becomes so absorbed that their is no other moment.
When we do this we are sending a powerful message to our subconsious mind and to our Higher Power. You are essentially
saying "I am here you have my full attention and I am ready to change my life in one eternal moment to the next. Let's face
it we can't turn our mind off but we can train it to live in the now. Either you control your mind or it will control
The Now requires clear understanding and an internalizing the differences between Needs versus Wants. To simply be alive
entails very few needs. All things beyond these are wants, and there are an unending number of them. The more we identify
with wants the more we dwell in the future. Once you begin working on the present moment with the intent of improving your
life you begin to utilize the power of now - you leave the past in the past, you don't concentrate on the future and instead
you start living in the present moment doing everything that you can to improve your life now.
